Understand what the fitting accessories change
Orthofeet offers fitting accessories such as spacers and an arch booster. These are different tools: reducing excess interior space is not the same decision as adding arch contour. Read the instructions for the actual shoe and accessories rather than inserting every supplied part by default.
A model with extra room can be helpful when that space is needed, but it still has to hold the heel and midfoot. More depth is not automatically a better fit for a lower-volume foot.
Change one part of the setup at a time
If the shoe feels loose, establish where movement occurs before adding an accessory. A heel lifting at each step differs from extra room above the toes. Follow the fitting directions and reassess both feet after an adjustment.
Do not use a spacer to justify a shoe that is plainly too long, or an arch booster to force comfort from an incompatible contour. An adjustment should solve a specific issue without creating pressure elsewhere.
Keep prescribed devices distinct from supplied accessories
If you already have a clinical orthotic, ask how it should interact with the shoe’s removable components. The manufacturer’s general fitting system is not automatically a substitute for instructions from the prescriber.
Prescribed orthotics need their own instructions
Dorset HealthCare cautions patients against modifying prescribed insoles themselves. If the combined arrangement is uncomfortable, obtain guidance rather than trimming or stacking pieces experimentally. Orthofeet’s depth and adjustability can make a model worth considering, but neither the brand name nor the number of included accessories guarantees relief. Evaluate the final assembled shoe during the intended activity, with attention to heel seating and any new concentration of pressure.
