See fit notesLocate the width before choosing a larger number
A broad forefoot, a high instep and a wide heel are different fitting needs. Notice where the current shoe presses and compare that area with the next model’s shape. If the longest toe already has adequate space, extra length may introduce sliding without addressing the original problem. A width designation is useful only alongside the actual interior and the manufacturer’s current size chart. Note the chart’s measurement units.
Check the rest of the foot after gaining room
Once the forefoot feels comfortable, assess whether the heel and midfoot remain held during walking. A roomier upper should not require painful lace tension to stay positioned. Orthofeet offers several candidates in this collection, but confirm the widths available for the exact style and size rather than assuming the whole range is identical. Fit with the socks and any advised insert you use. If the issue is persistent heel pain rather than shoe pressure, treat that as a separate question for your care plan.
