An indoor pair may need to handle stairs, smooth kitchen flooring and time at a desk. Decide how securely it must stay attached during those activities, rather than choosing only for softness or easy removal. A clean walking shoe kept for indoor use is a different option from a purpose-built slipper; either needs to match the actual routine. A non-marking description should not be mistaken for evidence of grip.
Include your usual support arrangement
If you have been advised to use an insert or particular footwear indoors, check whether the proposed pair accommodates that setup. An open or shallow style may not provide the same fit as the outdoor shoes you already use. Try the pair with indoor socks and inspect the fastening and heel position during ordinary walking. Keep outdoor dirt off flooring if using a separate indoor pair. House shoes can address practical comfort and coverage needs, but they should not be presented as a guaranteed solution for morning or persistent heel pain.
